The LUMINESSENCE TRIO is a modern jazz and funk group based out of the twin cities of Minneapolis/Saint Paul. The trio formed in January 2006 with the idea of performing original and upbeat jazz and funk that was infused with energy, groove, and soul. Mission accomplished. The group has been met with rave enthusiasm from audiences which are thrilled by the fresh, yet classic perspective on jazz that the LT3 brings to the stage. With three talented and accomplished players, each with a unique voice, the group is tighter than ever and looking forward to a bright future. The trio returns to the Dakota Jazz Club on November 24th after its debut there last May to a full house.
The LUMINESSENCE TRIO features guitarist Zacc Harris, upright bassist Liz Draper, and Pete Hennig on drums. In its short existence, the trio has played all over St. Paul and Minneapolis at some of the finer jazz clubs and venues, including the Dakota Jazz Club, the Nomad World Pub, the French Press Jazz Cafe, Bar Lurcat, the Acadia, Rossi's and more. With Draper on upright and Hennig on drums, the possibilities are endless for musical expression. The Luminessence Trio is looking ahead with a greater focus on creating and exploring new material and even hotter grooves.
